Difficulty level of QA was moderate to difficult.5 sets of Data Interpretation were there. However, this section was comapritively easy in comaprison to English and reasoning section. Types of DI asked in SBI PO Mains 2018 are –

  1. Caselet – Venn Diagram – Data related to an online store was given
  2. Tabular Missing DI
  3. Bar Graph – yearly expenditure of a person was given
  4. Caselet – Time and Work
  5. Bar Graph – Data of calls received and resolved was given in percentage.

The level of English section was difficult. Many new types of questions were introduced. There were two reading comphrension. The first passage was based on conventional type theme of an economist’s view of differences between innovation and invention. In this there was one question related to vocab.

The second reading comprehension was in a new pattern. There were 6 paragrahs which were marked as Statement A, B,C,D,E,and F. Below the paragrahs there were explanations related to each paragraphs. In total 9 questions were asked in this passage. Questions were based on identifying grammatically correct phrases, stated as phrase replacement.

Another change in pattern was introduction of cloze test.  In this a paasge was written with five blanks and correct phrase had to be written in those blanks.

Again, the difficulty level of reasoning was dfficult.  NO questions were asked related to computer aptitude. Questions from puzzeles and seating arrangments were there. Please read the questions below –

  • Circular Arrangement
  • Blood Relation+Age based puzzle
  • Floors+Buildings based puzzle

Random Arrangement -3 Variables, Names of persons, their posts and fruits were given

Linear Seating Arrangement- 3 Variable, the direction in which the persons were seated was not mentioned.

This section was a relief to students as difficulty level of this section was Moderate. This section had 40 questions. Most of the questions were based on current happenings. According to students who appeared in the exam no questions were asked from banking and static awarness.


There was a time limit of 30 minutes to solve this section. It was a 50 marks section

Letter Writing (150 words)
  1. a) Write a letter to the concerned authority expressing your concern over usage of harmful pesticides in fruits and vegetables.
  2. b) Write a letter to your branch manager as you were unable to transfer funds to your friend due to unavailability of UPI services
Essay Writing  (150 words)

Topics for essay writing were –

a) Measures to be taken to avoid issues during monsoon
b) Bitcoin
c) Decreasing number of researches taken up by students.
