Combined Defence Services (CDS) Exam Previous Year Papers

Combined Defence Services (CDS) exam is conducted to recruit suitable Male and Female candidates who are unmarried/ divorcee/ widow in defense services. All Indian level recruitment exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to select the most suitable candidates in all 3 spheres of Indian defense i.e. Army, Navy and Airforce. However, for Airforce academy married candidates more than 25 years are eligible to apply. The CDS exam is conducted twice a year i.e. in February and November. Notifications of the exam dates are released in November and August respectively. UPSC CDS (II) will be conducted on 18th November 2018.

Selection Procedure of UPSC CDS Exam

UPSC CDS exam is conducted in 3 stages. Following are the stages:

  1. Written Exam
  2. Personal Interview
  3. Medical Test

  • There is negative marking for every wrong answer
  • 1/3rd marks are deducted depending upon marks allocated to the question

2. Personal Interview

  • Candidates who clear written exam receive a call for the interview
  • The interview is conducted by 3-4 days
  • Psychological test, Intelligence Test, Group Activities and Group Discussion are conducted during the interview
  • Candidates recommended after the interview will undergo medical tests
  • The medical test will be conducted by the Service Medical Officers Board
